What a great year your Chapter has experienced with several new records achieved!
To summarize:
We began 2011 with the 1st Quarter Educational Session with a record number (over 300 registrants) to hear keynote speaker Jonathan B. Perlin, MD, President, Clinical Services and CMO of
Nashville, Tennessee-based HCA, speak on "Leadership's Impact on
Quality Initiatives: How Data is a Crucial Piece of 21st Century
Approach to Quality Medicine." The first Category I panel discussion
of the year, "Building the Hospital of Tomorrow: Rehabilitate,
Renovate or Replace" had an impressive registration of 116.
Since its creation in 2005 by Mark Wallace, President/CEO, Texas
Children's Hospital, the "What's up Boss?" (WUB) event has become a
biennial tradition. The night of October 20th will well be
remembered by those who attended. Over 165 leaders, early, mid and
senior careerists enjoyed the opportunity to dialogue about career
development while enjoying the ambience and great food of Trevisio's
restaurant in the TMC. In addition, I was honored to present Dr.
David J. Fine, FACHE with a $5,000 academic scholarship in his name.
I also had the privilege of formally recognizing honored guests R.O.
Hunton, President, The Hunton Group and Monzer Hourani, President of
Medistar Corporation, for their outstanding sponsorship support of
the WUB event and the Chapter.
On Sept 27th, ACHE-SETC joined with the ACPE (American College of
Physician Executives) and presented a Category I panel discussion on
"Accountable Care Organizations: Implications and Impact." Another
record attendance: 179!
ACHE - SETC membership is at an all time high! As of this writing
your Chapter has 1,354 members! ACHE-SETC is one of the largest ACHE
affiliated chapters in the U.S. Special thanks to the ACHE-SETC
Membership Committee for their outstanding work in stimulating
membership growth with a 100 day campaign.
The Chapter's 12th Annual Golf Tournament was highly successful with
120 participants and 30 teams. As a result of the Tournament's
success the Star of Hope Mission was the recipient of a check for
$8,346.77.
Most important: Your Chapter is successful because of YOU and the
commitment of our sponsors. Thank you for a GREAT YEAR! It has been
an honor to serve you.
Best wishes to all of you for 2012!
